The most common alpine plantain species, present in Romania only in the mountains hich passes over 2000m asl, along creeks and glacial lakes. A flowering individual from Bulgaria can be seen here. A curious disjunct species, present in the northern Balkans and the southern Carpathians and in Tien Shan Mountains in Turkestan.
